Position on frackingFracking is harmful for the natural environment. It adds pollutants and greenhouse gasses to the air and leaves harmful contaminants which contaminate our fresh water resources. Not only that but fracking has increased our reliances on nonrenewable resources which is not only unsustainable but dangerous. On the other hand it brings billions into the economy and creates a multitude of jobs. It helps us power our homes and cities. It keeps the US to be more self reliant on energy and allows for innovation in a booming economy .

Fracking alternatives |
The alternatives to fracking are already around us. Technologies that harvest natural energy sources such as dams generating hydroelectric power, wind turbines, solar panels which convert light into energy, and geothermal energy which takes the heat in the earths core to power generators. We have an abundance of resources at our disposal, and now all we lack is the infrastructure needed to harness these forces.

conclusion |
Fracking should be used as an intermediate form of producing energy for the time being until we slowly progress into using more sustainable practices to generate clean energy from renewable sources.
